A revered Islamic scholar and priest from India, Shk Yusuf Bhai Barwaniwalla visits Burhani School today. He approved and appraised the techniques and methods used in school to facilitate learning.We are privileged to have him visit us. He is renowned for his vast knowledge in Islamic education and a much admired personality worldwide.
Kg 3 went on Field Trip to Burhani Saw Mills and consolidated all that was learnt in theory earlier.The entire process of wood was enlightening to observe and pupils did an extension activity when they returned to class, by sketching all that they had grasped and absorbed.
It gives access to a wide range of educational resources that are available online, from videos to texts to animations and apps and use both audio and visuals to explain the lesson to the class.It keeps children more engaged and gives better understanding of the lesson.
Children brought tins and seeds from home.They were shown how to plant and water the seeds.They were taught about basic requirements for plant growth. And as the plant grew, they observed the sprout, seedling and later on learn about parts of the plant.
The most pleasurable and exciting activity for kids is swimming. Basic steps are taught by swimming instructor Ms Hyness, like keeping head under the water and blowing bubbles. They are taught how to kick legs, move arms and float.
Kg 3practical science lesson on 'Meals of the Day' was Breakfast.Childrenbrought breakfast items from home. A table was then laid with table cloth andnapkins. Utensils were laden with food like mandazi, mbarazi, bread, pancakes,boiled eggs, milk, juice, butter, jam, omelette, honey, sausages, cereal,porridge, vitumbua.Pupilslearnt about names of food items and later sampled the dishes, reinforcingsensory organ tongue -'taste'.
Assembly onAfrican Leaders:Studentswere chosen to represent all 6 presidents of Tanzania. In a smart coat and mic,with words like "Kazi Iendelee," Mama Samia, and "Rukhsa",the children cheered and were overjoyed to see all 6 presidents standingtogether in a row. They learnt about the Founder of the Nation, too.
GeneralAssembly on important people and personalities and children dressed as such.Regal in her hat was Queen Elizabeth. Draped in white, pious and graceful wasMother Teresa. We had the coiffed and suave Barack Obama. The selfless MahatmaGandhi was a humbling appearance and a treat to watch. The assembly was led byTeacher Rashida and Teacher Happiness.
